Marco Richterich 1929 - 1997

Marco Richterich was born on 19 April 1929 in St. Imier and died on 11 May 1997 in Basel. He lived and worked in Basel and St. Rémy de Provence.

In 1946 he started training at the Kantonalen technical school in applied art and theory as well as learning the art of draughtsman.

From 1952 he did many single and group exhibitions both in Switzerland and abroad.

His most famous work of art was the graphic work of “Erich”. These are intimate poetic sheets of art which invite us on imaginary walks and for us to view Erich from the artist’s perspective. This 56 page work with text in both German and French and illustrated with 45 artworks is the work that he is most well known for.
